Top 20 Men's and Top 10 Women's Ranking - Inactivity Policy


Top 20 (Men) and Top 10 (Women) Ranking Inactivity Policy 

 

In order to maintain a Squash Alberta Top 20 (Men) ranking, a male player must:

1.  Play a minimum of two (2) matches against either Top 20 Alberta ranked male players or Top 20 Alberta Ranked female players ( ** a minimum of 1 match must be played against a top 20 Alberta ranked male player) between September 1st and December 31st in a calendar year, and; 

2.  Play a minimum of two (2) matches against either Top 20 Alberta ranked male players or Top 20 Alberta Ranked female players ( ** a minimum of 1 match must be played against a top 20 Alberta ranked male player) between January 1st and June 30th in a calendar year. 

 

In order to maintain a Squash Alberta Top 10 (Women) ranking, a female player must:

1.  Play a minimum total of two (2) matches against either Top 20 Alberta ranked male players or Top 20 Alberta ranked female players (** a minimum of 1 match must be played against a top 20 Alberta ranked female) between September 1st and December 31st in a calendar year, and; 

2. Play a minimum total of two (2) matches against either Top 20 Alberta ranked male players or Top 20 Alberta ranked female players (** a minimum of 1 match must be played against a top 20 Alberta ranked female) between January 1st and June 30th in a calendar year. 

 

Matches qualifying for Top 20 (Men)/10 (Women) ranking eligibility include those played in: 

1.  Edmonton Squash League (ESL),

2.  Calgary Interclub Squash Association (CISA),

3.  Calgary Premier League,

4.  Squash Alberta Sanctioned tournaments and/or

5.  Squash Canada National Events

6.  PSA Events

7.  Club matches, box league matches and all other mutually agreed upon matches played between Squash Alberta members that are entered into the club locker system and subsequently, the Squash Alberta Rankings.

 

 

If a Top 20 (male)/10 (female) ranked player does not meet the minimum requirements over the defined period, but has played at least one match against a same gender player and won, they will be moved to the ranking position above the last same gender player they beat during the defined period. 

If a Top 20(male)/10(female) ranked player does not meet the minimum requirements over the defined period, but played at least one match, but had no victories, they will be dropped to the bottom of the ranking list. 

If a Top 20(male)/10 (female) ranked player has been inactive, meaning they did not play any qualifying matches in the defined period, they will be dropped to the bottom of the ranking list.

 

The Inactivity Policy involving the removal of players from the Squash Alberta Top 20 (male) and Top 10(female) rankings, based on the above stated criteria and procedures, will take place during the first week of January and the first week of July on an ongoing basis.
